Dear
Valued Customers,
Annoucement
NTT MSC Email Services Upgrade
Thank
you for using NTT MSC Arcnet E-mail Hosting services.
Please
be reminded to check your email settings is changed for
the coming NTT MSC E-mail services upgrade to a distributed
e-mail system as date below.
Start Date and Time:
19 July 2008 (Saturday) @ 07:00
End Date and Time:
20 July 2008 (Sunday) @ 23:00
Impact:
No service interruption is expected. The migration is going
to be transparent with no impact to the users at all. However
some delay in sending/receiving email may be observed.
We
would like to ask our customer to check and make sure :
1. You are using use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN)
to access our e-mail services. To avoid any potential issues,
please do not use the direct IP address of our current e-mail
server (i.e. 203.115.225.22) and/or other unsupported DNS
names (e.g. mail.arc.net.my). This is important for an uninterrupted
migration process, especially as the various e-mail services
(POP3, SMTP, IMAP, webmail) for the new distributed system
will be configured with different IP addresses.
The supported DNS names for NTT MSC Arcnet e-mail services
are:
[1]
For all SMTP and outgoing mail smtp.arc.net.my
[2] For all POP3 and incoming mail pop.arc.net.my
[3] For all IMAP mail connections imap.arc.net.my
[4] For all webmail access webmail.arc.net.my
2.
To change the user name from only your "username"
(user) to your "email address" (user@arc.net.my)
in the Email client settings and webmail login user name
You can get further information on e-mail application configurations
at this
link.
For Japanese manual, please refer here.
For
corporate customers, please clarify further with your IT
system administrator/department to ensure that your respective
e-mail servers and DNS settings reflect these changes.
If
NTT MSC is hosting your DNS domain, please contact our DNS
administrator at [dns@arc.net.my] to seek further clarification
if needed.
We
highly recommend our customers not to store their e-mail
on our existing servers to avoid any loss of e-mail.
We
also would like to advise our customers not to create new
users or to make any changes to existing accounts or delete
the existing accounts from 14 July 2008 (Monday) to 21 July
2008 (Monday) to avoid the data not synchronized in the
new server.
We
also would like to advise our customers NOT to change their
password from today till 21 July 2008.
The
existing/old e-mail server will still be accessible in parallel
after the setup of the new mail system under a different
FQDN until such time we completely shut the old server down.
After
the server upgrade is completed, the GUI for WEBMAIL page
will change. Please refer to below link for the User Guide.
"User Guide
